DP sponsors Rowena Ryan Awards 2023

DP Medical is proud to be sponsoring the Rowena Ryan Awards, taking place at this month’s ENT UK Research Showcase Meeting 2023.

DP Medical is backing the Best Trainee-Led Audit category at the event, which will take place on Friday 15 September.

The annual awards were set up in 2015 to celebrate the life of Rowena Ryan – a young consultant ENT surgeon at Northwick Park London – who passed away from pancreatic cancer in her early 40s.

Rowena was a trainees’ champion and a strong advocate for improving training and clinical practice standards, providing support and mentorship for basic and higher surgical trainees as well as overseeing clinical practice guideline development and national audit projects.

Owen Pemberton, commercial director at DP Medical, said: “We’ve long supported the Rowena Ryan Awards and this year, we’re proud to be sponsoring the Best Trainee-Led Audit category.

“We look forward to presenting the award to the category winner at the meeting this September and celebrating Rowena’s legacy in the presence of her industry peers.”

Other award categories set to be presented at the event include Best Trainee-Led Research; Best Trainee-Led Teaching / Training; Best SAS-Led Audit, Research or Training; Best Overseas Trainee-Led Audit, Research or Training; and Best Young Consultant-Led Audit, Research or Training. 

The awards are part of ENTUK’s Research Showcase 2023, which is set to take place at The Royal Society of Medicine in London.

The Showcase Meeting highlights the latest research relating to the wide spectrum of ENT, covering all major aspects of Otorhinolaryngology, and features academic speakers and presentations from the British Otorhinolaryngology & Allied Sciences Research Society (BOARS).
