Product in focus: med-wave® by Neuranix

The background

DP Medical partnered with Neuranix in 2023 as the exclusive UK and Ireland distributor for med-wave® - a tool designed to perform gentle, non-invasive middle ear analysis in a matter of seconds.

How does it work?

The device is based on patented PLAI™ technology and performs a multi-frequency test using a probe that sends chirp signals from 100 to 3000 Hz that are then analysed at frequencies from 100 to 1500 Hz. Med-wave® processes the data collected and compares it with its proprietary database of pathologies in order to offer quick, painless, objective assessment of ear health status.

Based on simple data acquisition processes, the device adopts an automatic method that aligns the probe in the external ear canal, minimising operator intervention and shortening the learning curve.

Who’s it aimed at?

Med-wave®’s capability to perform more gentle and less intrusive examinations of the inner ear makes it perfect for any patient who cannot withstand the pressure applied to the ear during a more traditional examination.

This makes the device particularly useful for paediatric patients and, in fact, the device itself was inspired by the founder’s own experiences as a child:
