Former Royal Navy engineer climbs the ranks at DP Medical
08 February 2024 DP Medical’s sales team has received a welcome boost with the appointment of a new Northern Gynaecology Territory Manager.
Michael Bearpark, who comes from the north west of England, first joined DP Medical as our northern service engineer back in 2017 after spending seven years in the Royal Navy as a weapons engineering technician. And having developed a good technical and product knowledge along with good working relationships, a promotion opportunity has seen Michael rise through the ranks to join the sales team.
Michael, who lives with his wife and two young sons, said: “I really enjoyed my time as an engineer with DP Medical but to have a new challenge to get stuck into in the sales team is really exciting for me. I have a strong understanding of our gynae products and the difference they make to women’s health across the UK, Ireland and beyond.
“My days are always very varied with a healthy balance of administrative work and being face to face with current and potential customers including conducting product training and demonstrations for potential new customers.
“I really enjoy meeting new people creating new working relationships, passing on knowledge and expertise to customers to aid in providing the best quality of care to patients and my new role allows me to do more of that which is great.
“DP Medical has a hard working and supportive team who are willing to pass on their individual knowledge to help each other – people want each other to be successful. Everyone within the company works hard to give the best possible service to each of the customers.”
With two young children aged six and two, spare time is very limited for Michael but when he does have a minute you can usually find him on the golf course.
Thomas Cryan, sales director at DP Medical, said: “Michael has always impressed us with his proactive and friendly approach and we are really pleased to see him progress during his time with us and now enjoy this new position in our sales team. He brings a great deal of technical knowledge of our products to the role and always puts our customers first which is great to see.”
