Meet the team: Sam Harper

Tell us about your career to date:

I have nearly six years’ experience in the medical device sales industry, specialising mainly within Diagnostic Imaging, with a background in Laparoscopic Surgery, Intra-Operative Ultrasound/Range of Ultrasound Imaging, and now Endoscopies.

Where are you based?

I’m based within Brockworth, Gloucestershire – where they hold the famous Cheese Rolling Gloucester (also known as the Cooper’s Hill Cheese Rolling) every spring bank holiday!

What does your role with DP Medical involve?

I provide support to any existing or new customers who are looking to improve or expand their services with new, innovative technology. We aid through understanding requirements, facilitating clinical trials, and assisting in the purchasing cycle. The main thing I love about my role is being able to meet a whole host of people, helping wherever I can, whether that is with new purchases, training and support, or just picking up the phone for chat.

What are you most looking forward to about working at DP Medical?

I’m most excited about being a part of the company’s growth trajectory, having already grown tremendously in the last few years. DP has brought on some extremely strong products through great suppliers, with the ability to support our existing and new customers with an expansive range across the ENT specialty.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I’m a former high-level strength and conditioning coach to elite athletes, who now keeps active to feed an obsession with baking! You can also catch me on a paddleboard or motorbike in the summer, then a mountain bike during autumn and winter. I do sit down on occasion to watch back-to-back TV series and films, to read, or do a few Sudokus.

Tell us something not many people may know about you:

Whenever I’m able to, I travel up and down the country showing my Dobermann, most notably winning a 2nd place at Crufts – there’s always next time for the win!
