Meet the team: Danny Hammond

Tell us about your career to date:

I gained my ACA accountancy qualification while living in Sheffield, working for a firm of auditors. My wife and I then relocated to London, where I worked for Time Out Group during a great period of growth, culminating in the group going through an IPO (initial public offering) in 2016. I have subsequently worked within private equity portfolio businesses, ranging from aviation leasing to fibre broadband. I am delighted to be here at DP Medical as we look towards a sustained period of company growth.

What does your role with DP Medical involve?

I am in charge of all things related to finance, as the company looks to modernise and professionalise its operations to aid our growth ambitions. That will involve implementing a new ERP (enterprise resource planning) system and various other new and improved systems and processes. We will look to build out a strong finance and support function within the business to help move DP Medical forward.

What are you most looking forward to about working at DP Medical?

I am relishing working with the current team as the company grows over the coming years. I am extremely excited to be a part of DP’s continuing journey and have already found the current team to be incredibly friendly, ambitious and knowledgeable.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I have two young children, so more often than not I can be found spending my time with them outside of work. I am also a huge football fan, and I support my hometown team Sheffield Wednesday (sigh!). I also enjoy going to the gym and reading as much as I possibly can.

Tell us something not many people may know about you:

I can cook what my family regards as the best pasta Bolognese outside of Italy!
