What does your role with DP Medical involve?
My role involves supporting NHS and private hospitals across the North of England with a range of theatre and imaging solutions. I work closely with clinicians, theatre teams and procurement departments to introduce new products, provide clinical support, organise demonstrations and trials, and ensure customers get the most from the equipment and consumables we supply.
What do you like most about working at DP Medical?
The people and the variety. Every day is different, and I enjoy working with clinical teams to help find solutions that can improve patient care and theatre efficiency. The support and knowledge within DP Medical have made me feel very welcome since joining the company.
What did you do before working at DP Medical?
I spent many years working within the NHS and military healthcare as an operating department practitioner (ODP). During my clinical career I worked in operating theatres supporting a wide range of surgical specialities, developing a strong understanding of patient care, theatre workflows and medical technology. That experience has given me a solid clinical foundation which I now bring to my role supporting healthcare professionals throughout the region.
When you’re not at work, what do you get up to in your spare time?
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family, keeping active, going to the gym and following a variety of sports. I'm a coach to Scunthorpe RUFC U16s, and a sports therapist with the first team.
Tell us something not many people will know about you:
Not many people know that I previously served 22 years as a military radio operator and operating department practitioner, which gave me the opportunity to work in a wide range of challenging environments and helped shape my approach to teamwork, resilience and patient care.
